Founded in 1930 as a workers' cooperative, it has held the waste collection contract in the Catalan capital since 1964.
It is one of Catalonia’s leading environmental operators and has made substantial investments in its facilities and technological tools.
It employs a total workforce of 1,600 employees and operates a modern fleet of more than 450 vehicles. Through its 16 operational centres in Catalonia, two in the Principality of Andorra and one in Zaragoza, it provides waste collection and street cleaning services to 2.3 million people across 67 municipalities, as well as industrial waste management contracts.
At the same time, it manages a fully automated packaging and SRF sorting centre north of Barcelona, together with an industrial waste treatment plant.
